Welcome to my personal blog where I will introduce you to the various types and options of converting your files to more suitable formats so you can use them on any devices you want. Maybe you have somewhere your old movies, photos, songs or other memories you would like to keep on your computer, laptop or mobile phone. You may want to share certain content with your family and friends, or just watch new movies on all devices that you have. Whatever is the case, here is where I will explain to you how to transfer your files into more suitable formats.
DVD Video discs may have built-in copy protection and other “hidden” data, so they should be copied exclusively using programs specializing in copying DVD Video discs.
DVD Shrink – free
It is probably the most popular program for copying DVDs. This program can copy all the copy-protected films and, if necessary, performs compression to make content on a smaller-capacity DVD.
DVDFab DVD Copy
DVDFab Definitely is the best and most powerful program for copying DVD movies. It is very nice and pleasant to use. It copies every DVD regardless of region code and copies protection mode. With it, you can make identical copies or you can customize them as you like. Of course, it can also compress the selected parts so that the content will stand on a medium of smaller capacity.
DVD Decrypter – free
An excellent small program that can do several things about copying DVDs. Among other things, we will point out the possibility that we consider most useful: the movie on DVD is always disassembled in several VOB files, so many programs for converting have problems loading these files. DVD Decrypter can extract a movie from a DVD and burn it to a hard drive as one large VOB file.
DVD Decrypter will eliminate all encryption and other copy protection from that file. You can easily open this large VOB file later in MediaCoder or VirtualDubMod and convert it to “DivX movie” or another format. Unfortunately, DVD Decrypter is no longer on the public download page, so it’s not easy to find. otherwise, this is one of the programs that every video master has in his collection.
These are programs designed to convert from one format to another format. In this section, we have listed those programs that deal with a large number of formats, and whose conversion is the primary purpose.
SUPER 2016 – free
Most popular among simple universal video converters. A program for converting from any video format to anyone. This is one of those programs that should always be installed on your computer in case you suddenly need to quickly convert a file to another format. The disadvantages of this program are that the options are too simplified. Another important disadvantage is that it cannot perform two-way encoding.
MediaCoder – free
The best and most powerful free universal converter with advanced features. It is designed for mass enveloping and automated operation of a large number of files. Ideal in situations where you need to compress a large number of videos (e.g., switch images from a TV card from .MPG to “DivX”). MediaCoder is one of the few converters capable of double-encoded encoding.
We all know that new devices are literally flooded. Each of them plays video clips but in some format. This means that if you have a video clip on your computer, there are little opportunities to view it on one of the other devices you have without the use of an additional program that will convert it. Currently, there are thousands of programs that are specialized exclusively for video conversion. Some of them are free and some are paid. Also, some of them are simple, and some are complicated, some look nice, and some have almost no user interface.
The program I am writing about is caller Hamster, and that is a free program for converting video to many other formats. The program is so easy to use that I have decided to write this post more as a description, not as the initial program guide. Simply after you add a video clip (by clicking on a button, dragging and dropping) you have the option to select in the “Edit” tab in which format you want to convert the video or on which device you want to play it.
On the side, there are also settings for image quality and sound, but if you are not professional and do not know exactly what you are doing, I do not recommend using these options. After simple adjustments, we only have a “Convert” tab where you need to click on the large “Press to convert” button and wait for the program to do its own job.
It can convert any video format in order to use it on Apple TV, Zune, iRiver, Xbox, Blackberry, PSP, PS3, iPhone, iPad, iPod, and so on. The files are converted to M2TS, DVD, HD, FLV, MPEG, WMV, MPG, AVI and other different formats. The video player is integrated. Hamster is easy to use, and the process is divided into three easy steps. You can change codec, filters, types, and effects on your videos, and also stack multiple videos, all at the same time. Also, you can adjust the frame rate and video bitrate as you wish, making your converted video beat more quality than it was. This program also supports forty different languages that you can choose at the beginning of the program. Some of the languages are Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Chinese, German, Korean, French, Arabic, and of course English.
The word codec was created as an abbreviation of the coder-decoder. However, the word codec was used for everything, so it became a broad term. However, about codecs it is enough to know a few things:
In simplified terms, there are two main types of codecs, one for reproducing (decoding) and others for use in video compression (encoding) programs.
Codecs for decoding ie. playback – they serve your players to play video in a certain format. They are mostly imperceptible components of windows that run their work in the background and users do not even know about them. For example ffdshow, AC3Filter and the like… Some of these codecs come with Windows, but for everything to work properly, it’s best to install some of the most important ones.
This group includes all similar components that are not decoders but play with them in conjunction with them.
Encoders – Encoding encoders – used in video compression programs such as VirtualDub. For most converters and other video processing software, codecs are already embedded in them, so they do not need to be installed separately.
The most important codec for playing popular video formats:
ffdshow (ffdshow tryouts) – free
It allows you to play many popular video formats such as DivX, XviD, H.264, FLV…
DivX 10 (DivX Plus for Windows)
DivX 10 is a package that bundles everything you need to play DivX, DivX Plus HD, and DivX HEVC videos. .AVI, DIVX and.MKV files on your computer and on the web pages. In the package, among other things, you get a DivX Player that delivers exceptional image quality and works well with damaged AVI files. Excellent good performance when playing H.264 video. DivX Player is currently the only player to play video in the new HEVC format. All components for playing DivX videos are free and some components for creating DivX content are activated by registration. In some promotional periods, the entire package is free.
LAV Filters – free
LAV Filters allows you to play virtually all popular video and audio formats as well as open various file format files, including the latest and the most recent. It is practically necessary for your players to open files in the formats MKV, WebM, MP4, MOV, FLV, MPEG Transport Stream, MPG, OGG…
AC3Filter – free
Extremely high quality and powerful codec that has a whole host of interesting options for audio enthusiasts. It deals with the release of sounds, postprocessing by filtering sound with advanced settings and real-time encoding for SPDIF (digital audio) output from the computer. It allows playback of AC-3 and DTS audio format in all players.
There are many different programs that can convert a large number of files into other files. Depending on whether these programs are free or not, it depends on the number of options they will have, whether they will be able to improve the quality of your videos, or it will remain the same as before the conversion. We bring you some of the most famous ones:
A small but powerful program that is primarily intended for converting various audio formats into MP3 (or raw WAV). Extremely simple and intuitive to use. It’s phenomenally doing what it’s meant for. It can also convert some really rare file formats that other converters cannot (for example, ACM-WAV, AC-3, etc.). It starts almost instantly. It’s really refreshing to work with such a good program.
TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works
An extremely powerful program that, in addition to great encoding capabilities, has so much to do with video-editing programs so that we can say that it belongs to a special category for itself. It supports all popular formats, H.264, HEVC, MKV, MP4, WebM, AVCHD, XAVC, DV, DivX, DivX HEVC, AVI, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, WMV, etc.
TMPGEnc 4.0 Xpress
One of the best universal encoders. It has a built-in TMPGEnc MPEG-2 encoder and a DivX Pro encoder with all available options. It can primarily encode in MPEG-2 formats for DVD, MPEG-2 for Blu-ray discs, standard DivX video and the like. It can also access all specially-installed codecs in the same way VirtualDub does. Before encoding with built-in tools, you can process video, cut, select filters, and do everything else that is required to prepare the video for encoding.
It was made of incredibly high quality. Great attention is paid to all the options being distributed in the most intuitive way, and that all tools are easy to understand by the poorly-addressed users. A truly top-notch program.
MainConcept TotalCode Studio
This is a professional program for converting to various popular formats like H.264, HEVC, AVCHD, XAVC, XDCAM, MJPEG2000, DV, Blu-ray, DVD, DivX, DivX Plus, SVCD, VCD, 3GP, Flash, Silverlight, etc. The program has built-in presets for all standard and industrial applications, which ensures impeccable compatibility for the end result. The highest quality professional program of this kind. MainConcept encoders and other components use the most popular professional video editing programs such as Adobe Premiere, Elecard, and so on.
Before installing any of these programs make sure that your computer or laptop can run such programs. You also need to make sure that you are downloading these programs from trusted sources and sites in order to prevent potential harm that can be caused by viruses. All of this can be prevented if you have your computer antivirus updated and running.
There are many converters that can convert files to the ones you need. And it’s generally easy considering that computers, tablets, and most phones use mp3 or mp4. But it’s completely different with blackberry phones. To be able to play music or open pictures on these devices, you need a special converter for them only.
The problem is that at the time these business phones were made, other formats were not as widespread as today. Although blackberry is conceived as an ultra-modern and sophisticated phone that is mainly used for business purposes, there is a problem with files. They must be in a specific format that can be played exclusively and just on these types of phones. Blackberry has experienced a great boom and expansion after it appeared on the market. They used it in all the films and TV series, its sales were at its peak. There was no modern business person who did not have at least one blackberry phone. And even today there is a large number of people who use it. But today there are a large number of file types and they must all be converted to be used on blackberry mobile devices. We bring you some of them:
Any DVD converter
This program can convert every DVD file to almost any format. What makes this program recognizable is its ability to convert all your DVD files into a format that can be used on blackberry phones. With a very simple instruction that can be found on the Internet, within a few minutes your files will be converted.
Aviosoft DVD to BlackBerry Converter
This converter transfers your files into a rather specific version and resolution of the mp4 file that can be played on both blackberry phones and other devices. There is a free version that does not offer so many sophisticated options, but also paid for you get a lot more options. With the paid version regardless of the quality of your recordings, they will always look as if they were just recorded in their best quality.
Microsoft’s software launched its Zune music player more than ten years ago. Microsoft has launched its first player for five years after Apple’s “Apple” music company’s iPod music market was launched. Since it has already expanded its empire to video games and the Internet, Microsoft has decided to pave the way for itself in the music world. The first Zune player was introduced by Microsoft in 2006, and the latest version of this player, Zune HD, arrived three years later.
The new player appeared on the European market at the end of the last quarter of 2007. However, analysts believed that “Microsoft” has appeared too late in the music market and that “it will be a success if it also conquers two percent of that market”, the French press reported.
In 2011 Microsoft officially “quit” the Zune. The Zune HD Player was firstly removed from the official site, and then returned to it. However, they didn’t produce more. Although it has been some time clear what the fate of this Microsoft device was, with its removing from the site it has been officially confirmed. Microsoft’s announcement at that time was that they announced that Windows Phone will be the key point of their music and video mobile studios. Because of that, they will no longer produce Zune players. What did that mean for current Zune users? Absolutely nothing. Their devices continued to work with Zune services as before. This company said they will continue to support users of these devices.
But what if you want to convert files from DVD to Zune and back? If you still have something that you would like to play in some other player? Well, there are still converters for that. There is various software you can get online that can help you with this. There is a famous winxdvd, DVD creator converter, magic DVD ripper, and so on. You should download them to your computer, install them and then follow a simple instruction on how to locate our files and convert them in desirable formats.
You should convert your files in most common formats so you wouldn’t risk losing them if the software for formats you have now disappeared. It is quite common for specific formats to lose their software and other support and it can happen again.
For this article, I feel need to clarify some things, especially. First, let’s talk about how MKV is not a video format but rather a file format, which is a very different thing. MKV stands for the Matroska Multimedia Container, a file format designed to contain an unlimited amount of video, sound, images and/or subtitles, and even other things, within a single file. The concept is very similar to other containers such as AVI, MP4 or ASF.
Today, this container is most commonly used for high-definition video, but nothing prevents anyone to put something else inside, ie. an MPEG2 video from a satellite and titles for it, or just a common divX. What confuses most of the people is HD video since it’s encoded with highly efficient and high-quality encoder by an H.264 video standard, so most of us think that MKV is a new video format. One of the problems is when you get an MKV file, without a special program you can have no clue what exactly is inside.
How does it work
If you would put a simple DivX with or without subtitle into an MKV file, it doesn’t mean you can put it into your favorite DVD player, which otherwise readily plays our DivX. The first thing in the playback of the MKV is a piece of software called the splitter whose task is to read a file and split it into its components.
Those parts are then sent where they belong. Video component into a video viewer section, audio into the sound reproduction section and subtitle into a section which will draw it on the screen, and that is something our old, reliable, DVD player doesn’t know how to do. It doesn’t know how to read and split something called MKV, even if it knows how to handle everything inside. Furthermore, HD is even more complicated. Even if it could split the MKV, our DVD player has nowhere to send H.264 since it only supports DivX, XviD and MPEG encoding. That is why you need MVK converter.
Nokia phones are in again, and with so many different models of those phones, the users face a difficult problem: which video format do Nokia phones support and why there isn’t one format for all the phones? Well, I don’t know yet why every device doesn’t use the same format, but I know something else. Something more helpful. Nokia phones can play videos and movies in H.264 and 3GP formats. So, in order for you to be able to watch a movie on your Nokia mobile phone, you have to convert your files to these to formats. And you can do that easily, with a specific program called Nidesoft. Let’s find out what are H.264 and 3GP exactly.
H.264 video codec similar to MP4
This is a video codec and today it is the most used one. H.264 is very popular compression especially for videos in HD. The thing is – you can get a high-quality video that is somewhat low in bitrates. This codec is often used in HD DVD, Blu-ray, HDTV, and camcorders AVCHD.
MP4 is one of many encoded formats of H.264. Its full name is, in fact, MPEG-4 Part 14 and he is quite popular. In one single file, he can hold video, audio, images, and subtitles, and is playable on almost all devices. But the difference between MP4 and H.264 is that the first one is a file container format, and the second one is a video codec compression. H.264 files can be AVI, MVK or MP4. ripping your DVD in MP4 is faster but h.264 gives you better video quality.
The files converted to 3GP are multimedia files. This video container format is made in order to save disk space, data usage, and bandwidth so he is commonly used on mobile phones. This is a standard format for MBMS and MMS. This format is supported by 3G or better than that mobile phones, PlayStation 3, Nintendo, and of course Nokia mobile devices. This format is very popular and convenient and you can convert your files easily using numerous converters that can be found online.
Which file types, audio, and video codecs are supported on your blackberry device depends on your device model, and on your wireless network. So we give you a list of all the things that should be supported but you should know that some stuff on this list may not be supported if you have a somewhat older model of this phone. Be sure to check with what file extension your specific model will not work properly before you start to convert your files, so you wouldn’t lose your time on something that will not work. Without further ado, here we go:
Supported file extensions
For extensions MKV, MPEG, MOV, AVI and MP4 you will be needing supported video codecs and supported audio codecs in order to be able to open and use your files on your blackberry phone. In this list are also F4V, M4V, 3G2, ASF, WMV, 3GP, and ISMV.
Without video codecs
For the following, you don’t need any video codec: ACC, M4A, FLAC, OGG, QCP and. SPIMD. You will be needing supported audio codecs. Your blackberry can also, with the right audio codecs, open extensions like MIDI, MKA, MP3, WAV, WMA, and AMR.
Why do you need this
Knowing which files are supported on your blackberry device will help you a lot when you need to convert specific movies, music, and pictures into files that will work perfectly on your device. Look at this lists and then download a converter that can manage the files you already have and convert them into files that you need. If you have multiple options, choose the one that will give you the option of using your converted file later on your other devices such as a desktop computer, laptop, tablet or other mobile phones. Most technological devices can use MP3 and MP4 formats for movies and videos. MP4 is not on this list so it cant be used on blackberry but MP3 files like music will work nice. Just be sure to check if your specific model can work with MP3 extensions.
First things first, you should know that all the videos that you got from the iTunes Store will be for sure compatible with your iPod. If you got your files from somewhere else, the chances are that they cant be recognizable by your device and you will need to convert them into the format that is compatible.
If you do have some files that you need to convert, it will be enough to download iPod converter from google and install it on your computer. After the installation, you should just place the files you want to convert into the program, select the type of file you want to get and let the program do its job. Then, connect your device to your computer using the USB cable that came with it, and transfer your files onto it. We recommend
Apple devices do support a lot of formats, but there are even a bigger number of files that this company does not support. If your videos are in XviD, DivX, Rmvb, rm, VOB, FLV, MPEG, WMV, DVD, AVI, 3GP, MPEG, if it is a YouTube video or a DVD movie, your iPod will not be compatible with them and you need to convert them. There can be another problem. Your videos are compatible with your device, but they are maybe too large, so you still need to convert them. This can be done in iTunes, where you can change the video size and speed in order to be playable on your iPod.
Your iPod will play all of your videos if they are encoded using MPEG-4 or H.264 codecs. Extensions of these files will be moved, mpg or m4v. if you encoded your files using codec h.264, the video will be encoded at a resolution 320×240 pixels at 768 kbps. With the MPEG-4 the videos are encoded up to the 2.5 Mbps with the resolution of 480×480 pixels and they can be played at 30 fps. The same video formats are supported in iPod touch also.
I found some family footage from years 1995 and 1999. The quality of the image itself is quite horrible, and those memories are very important to me, so I wanted to transfer them to another format. And there is also the fact that we have been transferring these tracks several times from one DVD to another since these discs generally do not last more than five years, so it is very important that before they expire, your files are transferred 850 hard disk or the new DVD. And since the DVD is now outdated technology, I decided to convert them to MP4 format.
By converting the image to some of the current formats such as, for example, MP4, you get the opportunity to watch that recording on all the devices that exist today, a computer, a phone, a smart TV, etc. And besides, the quality of a video does not get any worse from the original, but it remains absolutely the same.
Let us start at the beginning
When installing video converters from the internet, make sure that you do not have an unwanted program unloaded. Be careful what you are ticking. There are a very large number of good programs that are free and you can download one of the first ones that appear on the internet and install it on your computer.
What you need to install from programs is a DVD ripper to help you transfer the desired file from a DVD to your computer and a DVD to MP4 converter that will convert the desired file into a format that can be played on all devices. Unlike DVD formats that require special players and cannot be played on mobile devices.
Insert the disc into the computer, transfer the file through the DVD ripper, remove the disc and play the file. You need to check if the switch has succeeded so you can proceed further. If everything is fine, put that file through a converter that you also downloaded from the Internet to finally get the MP4. Follow the instructions and steps that are in the program And after the conversion, play the file also see if it works. If at some point some file does not work, first check the player from which you play it, and then the software that you downloaded.
There are a lot of available video converters out there capable of converting video for your iPhone, and it is sometimes hard to chose the right one. But first, let’s take a step back. Why would you even need a converter in a first place? As the most of devices out there, iPhone supports and doesn’t support some of the file formats used for videos. So you can see that you’ll need to convert files if you…
Need to convert videos to iPhone
You have your favorite video on your desktop PC or your laptop, or maybe you have taken the video with some other device or camera, and you want to have it with you on your iPhone. It is not as simple as you would though. Simply transferring video to your iPhone and trying to play it might result in a message that video cannot be played. Most of the time the issue is file formats. As I mentioned, iPhone can play only set file formats, and if your video is windows friendly you will need to use a video converter to correct this. For example files in Windows Media Video, or WMV or files in other formats including avi., mpg, and others. Also, most of the formats used in camcorders, such as MPEG-1 and 2, MTS or DV, will require the use of a video converter in order to be played on your iPhone.
But you’re worried might not end with just file formats. Another common case which implies a use of a video converter is file size. Imagine you have a very large video you want to have on your device. You will need to fit that beautiful 4k video into something more easy for your iPhone to store.
Need to convert iPhone videos to your desktop
Now if you are a Mac user, you’ll probably have next to zero troubles here, and if you need to convert or edit your iPhone videos you’ll have a plethora of Apple products to help you do so. But if you are a windows user, again, simple transfer of your video to the desktop won’t get you far. The problem here is that those beautiful iPhone videos are all encoded in an H.264 video codec. Keep in mind that you are not able to transfer iTunes videos, that you have synced, normally and you would need a video converter program to handle such a task.
In our articles the topic of DVD ripping, in general, is already covered, so be sure to give those a read before you proceed, because we are about to dive deeply in DVD audio ripping as a specific case you might need. More specifically two cases.
DVD-Audio, or DVD-A for short, is a specific format for storing HI-FI audio files. In general DVD-A stores, audio content with much more fidelity than a video DVD would, and is perfect for content such as concerts, albums, movie soundtracks etc. DVD-Audio is capable of having files in 16, 20, or 24 bits, with sampling rates from 44.1khz all the way to the 192khz, and from mono to full 5.0 or 5.1 surrounds, with any combination of above mentioned.
Ripping DVD-A can be a bit tricky and challenging, but with a bit of patience and the right tools, even a PC dummy can learn how to do it. The tricky part comes in a form of a copy protection found on most of these discs called MLP. Only a selected few tools can circumvent this problem without compromising audio quality or degrading it to simple stereo. You will need to download and install the program on your desktop and an optical drive on your computer. Now the next important step is choosing the right, lossless audio format. For desktop use .waw or Wave format is fine, alto large. Others might prefer compressed files such as FLAC or ALAC for apple users. And then let the tool do its magic.
Extracting audio from DVD video
The process is quite the same as you are extracting video from your DVD onto your computer or laptop. The only difference is that you need a special program that will separate your audio into a separate stream so you can rip your audio the right way. The VLC media player is quite good with that and he also separates your audio from its video and then converts your audio in a format that you specified. After that, you can transfer your new audio file onto any device you wish.
If you are interested in how to convert a video or a movie or upload it to your iPod, you came to the right place. The first thing you need to know is that iPod video format is mpeg4, and the resolution is 320×240. An average DVD movie is going to take approximately from 500 to 800 megabytes in this conversion.
You need to delete from your computer all the previous programs that you installed and that is not working or helping you on this journey of DVD conversion. This is quite important because some of the programs can wrongly interact with other ones creating a glitch in the system or slow performance of your desktop computer or laptop.
First of all, you need to be sure that your CD Rom can read DVD discs. Yes, not all of them read DVD, especially in this time where not all computers even have those readers. Now, if you have that, then it is time for you to download the software named DVD ripper (can be found on the various internet sites, download it from a trusted one). This and the rest of the software we will be talking about can be free of charge or with a small price, but you do need all of them.
Anyway, after installing your DVD ripper, you can put your DVD into your computer. And yes, now you can transfer your DVD file into your hard disc. Congratulation! We are halfway there. Take your DVD disc out of your computer, try to play the file you transferred on your hard disk, and if the file is not working try to find right codecs for your player/DVD ripper, or download another software and try again. If you successfully completed these steps, let us move on. Now you have to download MPEG 4 encoder and iTunes and through the same principle as above, to convert your file from a computer to an MP4 of 320×240 resolution. Then, you need to transfer that file to your iPod, play it, and if it works – you are done!
Your main goal is to transfer your DVD file into the file that will be playable on your iPhone, meaning you are going to cut it at the resolution of 230×240 so it would be playable. Simple. But like every minimalistic plan, that just means that a lot of things can go wrong, or slow because we are talking about technology and we all know tech can be tricky… So prepare yourself to transfer your precious files and keep your nerves tight, you don’t wanna lose them through this process. The good thing is – we know how to do this:
All with the help of your computer
We tried this on our Windows desktop computers and laptops, so if you are using some other operating systems, we are not totally sure how it is going to works. In theory, it should be completely fine. Possible risks are just some lost time and failed process midway, but those risks are quite low. So, to begin, clean your computers from previous similar programs you have, and that wasn’t doing what you needed them to do. Why? So they donßt interrupt us through this process. After removing all that junk, create a folder where you will be keeping your DVD and your converted files, all in order to prevent the possible outcome of you losing those files somewhere on the computer. Now, we can begin.
Download DVD reaper, put your DVD in your CD – ROM, and transfer your files on your hard disc. Easy right? Possible problems are: you donßt have CD-ROM on your computer (that is the hole where disc goes, no discs are not wireless); your CD-ROM cant read DVD discs (yes, that can happen too, sorry); your DVD reaper is faulty (this is fixable, just download another one and try again). And don’t stress.
After that, you should know that you are in the middle of this exciting journey, so be happy. But let’s do a quick check. Play that file. Not working? Check your player and if it is not about that, download another software and try again.
Now you just need to convert that DVD file and transfer it on your iPhone. How do you ask? Well, download some MPEG 4 encoders and iTunes, transfer your files to MP$ with the resolution of 320×240 and that should be it!
If you are looking how to transfer your MP4 files to MP3, you probably want to convert the MP4 audio file in order to listen to it on your MP3 player, or you want to convert a video to just a sound so you can play it as a song on your mobile phone or some other device. But before we get to the explanation of how to convert files, let’s look at the basic differences between MP3 and MP4 format.
What is MP3
MP3 (MPEG-1, layer 3). MP3s are small, high quality audio files that you can play on MP3 players or software. MP3 can be easily made using a computer, a ripper program that copies a song from a CD to your computer, and an encoder that converts your music into MP3 format. In short MP3 is used for audio files that you play on MP3 players and in software, and MP4 is for audio / video files and is used for streaming on the Internet and on high-speed mobile phones.
All about MP4
MP4 (MPEG-1 part 14). The MP4 format is used for audio and video. This type of file allows high-quality streaming (viewing / playing files) over the Internet, as well as the next generation of mobile phones – making MP4 players extremely demanding. You can download MP4 programs for playing music from the Internet. There are two basic types of MP4 files. The first type is called Simple Profile, which is used for digital video content of lower resolution, and those are very popular for online distribution. The second version is called Advanced Video Coding, which is better and is used for HDTV (high definition television).
Converting MP4 to MP3
To transfer MP3 to MP4, you need to use a file format conversion program. These programs are available on a large scale on the Internet. Many programs that you can download offer you a free trial so it’s not a bad idea to try out the program before you decide to buy it.
Three main steps in moving MP4 formats into MP3 format are:
Download a free conversion program or buy a converter that supports transferring files from MP4 to MP3 format.
Install the program on your computer.
Follow the instructions provided by the program and you will be able to convert MP4 to MP3.
I like to convert my DVDs to AVI format and store them on my hard drive to back up my favorite movies. Another advantage is that I do not have to carry DVDs with me when I go on the road, but simply copy AVI movies to my notebook and I am done. For this reason, will write about what a good DVD to AVI converter program has to have in order to quickly and easily convert using XviD or DivX codec.
The first important thing is that the program is able to do its purpose in just a few steps. When you download a specific program, and with it install the codecs you will need, your video converter is ready to use. After you have installed the software you can start the program. The first step is to download the DVD folder. I have on my hard drive DVD video_ts directories and all I have to do is direct my newly installed converter to that location. Then you need to select the title among the bidders listed. If there are multiple titles in the list, select the one that matches the length of the movie.
After you select the file you want to convert, some advanced programmes will offer you to select and check the appropriate Audio / Video Synchronization. Then you will choose the appropriate codec, and resolution you need, and basically, you are done. If there is, select the Output button, and trough Browse button select the folder and file name you want. Most of the programs offer you the option to play a little bit with settings, especially with the encoder settings, with the purpose of improving the quality of the file you just made.
As you can and will see, most of the programs work on the same basis, the difference is only in their style and design. Of course, if you download the desired program from not so trusted website, you can encounter some of the difficulties such as lack options that you may need.
DVD is an optical disc that is used as a medium of media for high-quality data storage, and in mass use, it mainly serves for storing movies. DVD was originally an abbreviation for a digital video disc, although some of the members of the DVD Forum claim that it should actually mean a digital versatile disc, in order to indicate the potential of such disks in storing non-visual applications. DVD discs are in appearance and size almost identical to CDs.
Extraction of data from optical media (ripping) is a procedure for copying audio and video data of multimedia devices (such as CDs, DVDs or HD DVDs) to another digital storage media such as hard disk, CD, DVD, etc. The purpose of the copying can be to back up the source media, but it is often done with the aim of distributing such material through peer-to-peer services, illegal distribution, even though the material is protected by copyright. In computer jargon, a copying person who is doing this is called a ripper.
DVD rippers are specific programs that you need to have on your computer in order to be able to transfer files like music, movie, video or photos to another device such as a hard drive on your computer. Since DVD discs are not only possible to copy/paste files to a specific computer because they are protected, it is necessary to use some of the specific DVD ripper programs.
There are a large number of programs on the market that are free to download or for a smaller price. Unfortunately, there are no programs that are used directly online. A large number of sites offering free DVD ripper programs generally offer a lot of other programs that come with the installation and which can significantly slow down your computer, and there are also viruses that can be installed in this way on your devices. It’s very important that you download these programs through trusted sites in order to avoid potential complications that could lead to the stealing of your personal data and deleting your files from a device.
Today, there are already many different video converters that can be quite specific and highly professional for the specific conversion you need, but they can also be more or less comprehensive. In the past, there were only a few of these programs that were generally available for computers, but the expansion of production and sales of mobile phones running on systems such as Android, iOS, and Windows has increased the number of video converters on the market.
Video converters can be online or downloadable, which can again be free or purchased for a smaller amount of money. Some of them can convert many formats such as DivX, XviD, MOV, RMVB, MPEG, VOB, DVD, WMV, MP3 and so on.
For a good video converter, it is important that it has a simple graphical interface and that is easy to use. Likewise, and perhaps more importantly, it is important that it has a high conversion speed and excellent output quality so that the video you later play is of a satisfactory quality not only for viewing over mobile devices but also over laptops and monitors of different resolutions. Some video converters have the ability to directly download video clips from popular flash sites like Vimeo and Youtube.
Specific video converters also have the ability to directly burn the processed file to DVD / CD / BlueRay. Likewise, much of the newest converters have the option of cropping certain segments of the video file as well as for connecting them and sorting in order to produce a better quality of the video. It is usually optional to change the frame size to achieve the desired frame. Every video and audio conversion parameter can be generally edited in certain video converters depending on which one you just managed to find as well as whether it’s an online, free or a downloaded program.
Video converters also have certain systemic requirements that your device in which you convert (mobile phone, tablet, laptop, desktop computer) needs in order to run the program and entire system without slowing down the performance of your technical device and the conversion itself.
